On a chilly night in week 10 our Mary MacKillop Faith in Action Award, FIAT students and some teachers participated in the Vinnie's Winter Stay In. On this night the students learnt about homelessness in Australia, particularly for those around their age. We also experienced what it would be like to have to find somewhere safe and warm to sleep. While they did not stay the entire evening, the students were able to get a very small glimpse into what it would be like to live rough.

Even though we’re enjoying the school holidays, we’re already excited to get back to Gardening Club! 🌱💚 Our Gardening Club loved picking fresh lettuce, spring onions and lemons straight from the school garden! 🥬🧅🍋 It’s so rewarding to harvest what we’ve grown together, and we can’t wait to get our hands back in the soil next term. See you in the garden soon! 🌼🌿

Over 125 students from 10 Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) schools have been recognised for their empathy and powerful storytelling as part of the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Australia Refugee Week Creative Competition.

Today St Monica’s joined together to celebrate NAIDOC Week with a whole school Liturgy. Our Liturgy focused on the theme “50 Years of Deadly” where we reflected on the how NAIDOC Week has grown over the years.

Year 1 spent some time last week creating dioromas of their favourite places for geography. This allowed them to explore natural and built features of their environment. They were all very creative and had lots of fun.

🏛️✨ Today, our Year 2 students had a fantastic time on their excursion to the Hawkesbury Museum! We learned all about our local history, explored what life was like in the past, and even had the opportunity to dress up. 👒🎩

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Congratulations to Charlotte and Samuel on their outstanding performances at the Regional Cross Country Championships today at Horsley Park Equestrian Centre, proudly representing St Monica’s and the Parramatta Diocesan East Team. Charlotte competed in the U10 Girls 2km event, finishing 36th out of 62 competitors and achieving a personal best time of 9 minutes 11 seconds. She also placed 3rd out of 8 runners in the Parramatta Diocesan East Team. Charlotte’s dedication and hard work over the past nine months have certainly paid off, with today’s result an incredible 2 minutes and 14 seconds faster than her Zone Cross Country time in 2025. Samuel competed in the U8/9 Boys 2km event, finishing 16th out of 68 competitors with a personal best time of 8 minutes 2 seconds. He placed 2nd out of 8 runners in the Parramatta Diocesan East Team, improving on his Zone Cross Country time from May 2026 by an impressive 21 seconds. Both Charlotte and Samuel should be immensely proud of their achievements. Their commitment, perseverance and enthusiasm are an inspiration, and it is wonderful to see their hard work rewarded with such fantastic results. Congratulations, Charlotte and Samuel! We are so proud of you both. 👏🎉🏅
